축제나 행사는 특별한 날이나 명절, 이벤트를 기념해 즐겁게 여럿이 모여 노는 일입니다.

항상 복수형으로 사용되며, 즐겁고 공개적인 모임이나 행사를 뜻합니다. 'holiday festivities', 'festivities에 참가하다'와 같이 많이 쓰며, 엄숙한 자리에는 사용하지 않습니다.

The city held many festivities during the holiday.
