একটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষকদের দল বা নির্দিষ্ট একটি বিভাগ, অথবা কোনো বিষয় বা কাজ করার প্রাকৃতিক ক্ষমতা।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

‘faculty’ শব্দটি কখনও নির্দিষ্ট বিভাগের জন্য (যেমন 'science faculty'), আবার শিক্ষকদের সমষ্টির অর্থেও ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'department' থেকে বড় এবং ব্যাপক অর্থ বোঝায়। দ্বিতীয় অর্থে, কারও বিশেষ স্বাভাবিক সক্ষমতা অর্থেও ব্যবহৃত হয় (যেমন 'the faculty of speech')।
