연장하다뻗다

Definition

시간, 공간, 수량을 늘리거나 무언가를 바깥쪽으로 뻗는 것을 뜻함. 무언가를 더 오래 지속하게 하거나 팔을 뻗는 데도 쓴다.

공식적/기술적 상황에서 자주 쓰임. 'extending a deadline', 'extending your arm'처럼 사용. 'expanding'과 구분해야 함; 'expanding'은 범위/크기를 넓힌다는 뜻.

The teacher is extending the deadline for the assignment.
