यह 'explain' का past form है। इसका मतलब है किसी ने विवरण, कारण या जानकारी देकर किसी बात को स्पष्ट किया; passive रूप में इसका अर्थ यह भी हो सकता है कि कोई बात स्पष्ट की गई।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

इसके बाद अक्सर वह बात आती है जो स्पष्ट की गई: 'explain the problem', 'explain why'. किसी व्यक्ति से पहले 'explained to' आता है: 'She explained it to me.' सीखने वालों की आम गलती 'explain me' कहना है; सही रूप 'explain to me' है।
