“excellency” in Japanese

Definition

大使や大統領などの重要な役職の人に対して使われる、非常に格式の高い敬称です。公式や外交の場で尊敬の気持ちを込めて用いられます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

"閣下" は「His Excellency」「Her Excellency」「Your Excellency」などと同様、非常にフォーマルな場で使われます。日常会話では使われず、公式や儀式の場のみで使います。
