매우 피곤하고 에너지가 남지 않은 상태; 모든 액체나 자원이 제거된 것에도 사용됨.

일상 회화에서 특히 정신적, 감정적으로 몹시 지쳤을 때 많이 씀('I feel drained'). 액체가 빠졌음을 직접적으로 표현할 때도 사용함('the pool is drained'). 'tired'보다 강하고 'exhausted'보다는 약함.

After working all day, I felt completely drained.
