आमतौर पर उन स्थितियों, खेलों, बाज़ारों, या संबंधों के लिए, जहाँ एक पक्ष का बहुत अधिक नियंत्रण होता है। अक्सर 'by' के साथ आता है ('dominated by')। 'dominating' (सक्रिय रूप) से न मिलाएँ। यह औपचारिक शब्द है, आम बोलचाल में नहीं।
