Una presa es una estructura construida a través de un río o arroyo para retener el agua, generalmente para crear un embalse, controlar inundaciones o generar electricidad.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
'Dam' se refiere casi siempre a grandes estructuras artificiales. Usar con 'build', 'hydroelectric dam'. No confundir con 'damn' (palabrota).
