'Crutches' हमेशा बहुवचन में ही इस्तेमाल होता है। अंग्रेज़ी में 'on crutches' कहना चाहिए। कभी-कभी यह भावनात्मक सहारा (जैसे 'emotional crutch') के अर्थ में भी आता है।
