사회, 분야, 활동 등에서 일반적으로 받아들여지는 방식 또는 관습을 의미한다. 또한 공통 관심사를 가진 사람들이 모이는 대규모 공식 모임도 의미할 수 있다.
Usage Notes (Korean)
'by convention'은 '관례적으로', 'annual convention'은 '연례 대회/총회' 의미로 자주 사용된다. 'naming convention'은 이름 붙이는 기준이나 방식이다. 공식 모임과 사회적 규범 둘 다 표현할 때 쓴다.
