تُستخدم عندما تجعل شخص أو فكرة أو تعليمات الأمور غير واضحة. غالبًا يتبعها مفعول به مباشر ('This confuses me'). تختلف عن 'confused' (كيف يشعر الشخص). تراكيب شائعة: 'confuses the issue', 'confuses people', 'easily confuses X with Y'.
