戒律とは、神や宗教などの権威から与えられた重要なルールや掟のことです。有名なものに聖書の十戒があります。

主に宗教や道徳の話題で使われ、「十戒」など特定のルールを指すときに用いられます。日常会話ではあまり使いません。
