어떤 일이 멈추거나 끝나거나, 무언가를 끝내게 하다.

'Cease'는 'stop'보다 격식체이며, 법률·공식 문서에서 많이 사용(예: 'cease fire'). 일상 회화에서는 거의 쓰이지 않음.
