El ganado vacuno son vacas y toros criados en granjas para carne, leche u otros productos. La palabra se usa normalmente para hablar del grupo de animales, no de un solo animal.

Se usa como sustantivo colectivo plural: 'The cattle are in the field', no 'a cattle'. Para un solo animal, se dice 'cow', 'bull' o 'calf'. Combinaciones frecuentes: 'cattle farm', 'cattle ranch', 'cattle market' y 'raise cattle'.
