Definition

茂みは、木よりも小さく、地面近くにたくさん枝がある植物です。英語では野生の草木が茂った地域を指すこともあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'茂み'は植物そのものや生い茂った場所を指します。「rose bush」は「バラの茂み」、「hide in the bushes」は「茂みに隠れる」となります。オーストラリアの英語では自然が多い田舎を指すこともあります。
