Definition

কিছু বাতাস বা গ্যাস এক জায়গা থেকে আরেক জায়গায় সরানো বা জোরে শ্বাস ফেলা বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। কখনও কখনও কিসে আঘাতও করতে পারে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'The wind blows' মানে বাতাস বয়ে যায়, 'blows out candles' মানে বাতি নেভানো। 'blows to the head' মানে মাথায় আঘাত। 'blows hard', 'blows out', 'blows up' এসবও শোনা যায়। 'That blows' (slang noun) এর সঙ্গে বিভ্রান্ত হবেন না।

Examples

The wind blows all night.

রাত জুড়ে বাতাস **ফুঁ দেয়**।

She blows on the soup to cool it.

সে স্যুপ ঠান্ডা করতে **ফুঁ দেয়**।

He blows the ball across the table.

সে টেবিলের ওপর বলটি **ফুঁ দিয়ে** সরায়।

Every time the heater turns on, it blows dust everywhere.

হিটার চালু হলেই এটি সবদিকে ধুলো **ফুঁ দেয়**।

If the alarm blows again, the whole building will hear it.

আবার যদি অ্যালার্ম **বাজে**, পুরো বাড়ি শুনতে পাবে।
