伝記とは、ある人物の人生について他の人が書いた書物や記録のことです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「伝記」は必ず他人の人生について使います。自分の人生を書く場合は「自伝」といいます。「write a biography」「read a biography」などの表現でよく用いられます。
