المزاد هو بيع علني تُباع فيه الأشياء للشخص الذي يقدم أعلى سعر. ويمكن أن يتم حضوريًا أو عبر الإنترنت.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

من التراكيب الشائعة 'hold an auction' و 'bid at an auction' و 'win an auction'. تُستعمل 'auction' غالبًا كاسم، لكن يمكن أن تأتي فعلًا بمعنى بيع شيء بهذه الطريقة: 'They auctioned the car.' لا تخلط بينها وبين 'bid'، فـ 'bid' هي السعر أو العرض الذي يقدمه المزايد.
