Definition

刑事事件で、被告人が法廷で正式に起訴内容を聞き、有罪・無罪などの答弁をする手続きです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

法律用語で、刑事事件のみに使われます。「hearing」「plea」「court date」などと一緒に使われることが多いです。民事事件には使用しません。
