Definition

とても速く通り過ぎる、または突然に通り過ぎること。ほとんど気づかれないほど速い。人や物の動き、または時間が早く過ぎる時にも使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルで会話でよく使われます。車や人、または時間があっという間に過ぎる時に使う言葉です。ゆっくりした動きには使いません。「あっという間」と似ていますが、「zip by」はより速さや軽さを感じさせます。
