Definition
Quitar algo de alguien o de algo por la fuerza o con mucho esfuerzo, a menudo contra la resistencia. A veces también se usa para obtener el control en una situación difícil.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Es formal y algo literario; no suele usarse en el habla cotidiana. Se usa mucho en frases como 'wrest control from', 'wrest power', 'wrest the title'. No confundir con 'wrestle' (luchar físicamente).
