প্রায়ই আনুষ্ঠানিক ক্ষেত্রে যেমন 'withdraw from a course', 'withdraw from an agreement' ব্যবহৃত হয়। এটি ব্যক্তিগত ইচ্ছায় সরে আসার বোঝায়, কাউকে বাধ্য করা হচ্ছে না। 'drop out' এর তুলনায় বেশি আনুষ্ঠানিক।
