Definition

力や興味、重要性などが徐々に弱まったり減ったりすること。特に感情や関心、月の満ち欠けに使われることが多い。

「waned」は「enthusiasm」や「interest」、「support」、「moon」とよく一緒に使われます。書き言葉でよく使われ、会話ではあまり使いません。「faded」や「diminished」とは使い方が異なります。

His interest in sports has waned over the years.
