"wait on" in Spanish
Definition
Atender a alguien, especialmente en un restaurante, o esperar a que suceda algo. En algunos contextos significa servir a clientes; en otros, esperar a alguien o algo.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
'Wait on' como 'servir' es común en inglés americano, sobre todo para camareros ('wait on tables'). En inglés británico, a veces significa 'esperar por', pero 'wait for' es más habitual. No confundir con 'wait', que solo significa esperar, no atender.
