昔の言葉で、騎士などに仕える男性の召使い、もしくは不誠実で信用できない男を指すこともある表現です。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
「varlet」は現代ではほとんど使われず、歴史物や古典演劇などで登場します。ユーモラスな場面以外で日常的には使いません。
