かかとをつけず、つま先だけで立ったり歩いたりする時の足の前の部分。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

多くの場合「つま先で立つ」「つま先で歩く」など、静かに動く時や高い物に手を伸ばす時に使います。比喩的にワクワクしている様子にも使われます。動詞としては使われません。
