Definition

綱渡りとは、サーカスなどで高い場所に張られた細くて丈夫なロープやワイヤーのこと。また、慎重な対応が必要な困難な状況の比喩にも使う。

主にサーカスの芸で使うが、「綱渡りをする」という表現は危うい状況を慎重に進む比喩としてもよく使われる。
