機械や虫、ゆっくりとかき鳴らす楽器の弦などが出す、連続的で低いうなりや振動に似た音。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

詩的・文学的に使われることが多く、背景の低い音を表現。急で大きい音には使わない。「the thrum of engines」「thrum in the background」などの表現がよく使われる。
