Dar um depoimento em tribunal ou em uma situação oficial contra alguém, geralmente acusando essa pessoa de um erro ou crime.

Expressão formal/legal, geralmente usada em tribunais ou investigações oficiais. Indica que o depoimento prejudica a pessoa. Não confundir com 'testify for' ('testemunhar a favor de'). Expressões comuns: 'se recusar a testemunhar contra', 'foi chamado para testemunhar contra'.
