一度やめたことを、再び前回止めた場所や段階から始めること。最初からやり直さない。

主に会話や仕事、学習など、話や作業を中断した後に使う表現です。「let's take up where we left off」は再び続きを始めるときによく使います。物理的な場所にはあまり使いません。
