Definition

仕事や義務から一定期間正式に離れること。また、フォーマルな場面で丁寧に別れを告げる時にも使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にフォーマルや書き言葉で使われます。「take leave of absence」は正式な休暇の意味。「別れを告げる」は古風または改まった表現です。普通の「バケーション」には使いません。
