أن تقرر القيام بشيء، خاصة المسؤولية أو المهمة، دون أن يطلب منك أحد أو يأمرك.

هذه العبارة رسمية قليلاً وتستخدم غالباً في السياقات المهنية أو الجماعية. غالباً مع ضمير: 'take it upon myself/himself...' لتؤكد المبادرة الشخصية.
