어떤 일이 사실임을 진심으로 약속하거나 꼭 지키겠다고 굳게 다짐할 때 쓰는 표현입니다.

주로 비공식적, 구어에서 사용하며 '맹세할게', '진짜야'처럼 쓰입니다. 공식적인 서약에는 쓰이지 않습니다. '욕하다'라는 뜻의 'swear'와 혼동하지 마세요.

I swear to tell the truth.
