삼진실패 (비유적)

Definition

야구에서 타자가 세 번 스트라이크로 아웃되는 것을 말한다. 비유적으로 실패나 거절을 의미할 때도 쓴다.

대부분 미국 영어에서 야구 용어로 쓰임. 은유적으로는 실패, 거절 등에 사용; 'K' 또는 'SO'로 줄여 쓰기도 한다.

He got a strikeout in the first inning.

그는 1회에 **삼진**을 잡았다.

The pitcher celebrated his tenth strikeout of the game.

투수는 경기에서 자신의 10번째 **삼진**을 축하했다.

A strikeout means the batter is out.

**삼진**은 타자가 아웃된다는 의미다.
