長い足取りで歩く人や動物を指します。また、水面を素早く移動する昆虫（アメンボ）も意味します。

主に文学や描写で使われ、日常会話ではあまり使われません。「water strider」はアメンボのこと。キャラクター名とは区別して使ってください。
