Definition

إغلاق أو سد ثقب أو فتحة بحيث لا يمكن لأي شيء المرور. يُستخدم عادة مع الأنابيب أو الزجاجات أو الفجوات.

تعبير رسمي نوعًا ما في الكلام اليومي. يُستخدم غالبًا في التعليمات ('stop up the hole')، وإصلاح الأشياء، والطب ('stop up the wound'). لا تخلط بينه وبين 'stop' (يتوقف)؛ 'stop up' يعني سد شيء فعليًا.
