Definition

'Stick up' का मतलब ऊपर की ओर उठना या बाहर निकलना होता है। बोलचाल में इसका अर्थ हथियार से लूटपाट करना भी होता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

यह एक अनौपचारिक अभिव्यक्ति है। 'stick up' शाब्दिक ('My hair sticks up': बाल ऊपर) या डकैती के लिए ('They tried to stick up the bank': बैंक लूटना) के रूप में प्रयोग होता है। अपराध में 'stickup' संज्ञा भी है। इसे 'stand up for' से न मिलाएँ।
