親が再婚したことで家族になった、血のつながりのない義理の姉妹のことです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

女性のみに使い、男性の場合は「義理の兄弟」となります。童話（「シンデレラと義理の姉妹」など）でもよく登場します。
