“Spec”可以指事物的详细技术说明（“specification”的缩写），也可以指“on spec”，即没有保证成功或报酬而做某事。

多为非正式用语。在IT、工程等领域常用于指技术文件。'On spec' 常用于创意或自由职业工作。复数为 'specs'。不要和 'specs'（眼镜，俚语）混淆。
