サイフォンは、空気圧と重力を利用して液体を一方の容器から他方へ移すための管です。また、この方法で液体を移す行為も指します。

「サイフォン」は器具の名詞と、液体を移す動詞の両方で使います。「siphon off money」はお金を不正に抜き取る意味。
