Definition
কোনো কিছু থেকে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বা নির্দিষ্ট কিছু খুঁজে বের করার জন্য ধাপে ধাপে ও মনোযোগ দিয়ে অনেক কিছু দেখা বা যাচাই করা।
Usage Notes (Bengali)
প্রায়ই অনানুষ্ঠানিক কথায় ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'sift through papers' বা 'sift through data' এর মত ব্যবহার করা যায়। দ্রুত বা অসাবধানভাবে খোঁজার জন্য নয়।
