Afastar-se rapidamente, geralmente por medo ou desconforto. Também pode significar hesitar ou evitar fazer algo difícil por medo.

Usado em contextos informais e semi-formais. Normalmente seguido de 'from' ('shrink back from something'). Pode ser físico (recuar) ou figurado (hesitar por medo). Não confundir com 'shrink' sozinho, que tem sentido mais amplo.
