Definition

"Shot to pieces" মানে হচ্ছে সম্পূর্ণ ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্ত বা খুব খারাপভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত, সেটা কোনো জিনিসের বা পরিকল্পনার ক্ষেত্রেও হতে পারে।

প্রধানত অনানুষ্ঠানিক ভাষায় বলে, কোনো কিছু খুব খারাপভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হলে বা কোনো পরিকল্পনা একেবারে ভেস্তে গেলে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'একটি যুক্তি shot to pieces হয়ে যায়' বোঝায় তা একেবারে খারিজ হয়ে গেছে।
