Definition
Las shears son unas tijeras grandes que se usan para cortar cosas como tela, plantas o metal. Son más fuertes que las tijeras normales y suelen tener hojas más largas.

"Shears" siempre es plural en inglés. Es común ver "garden shears" (para jardinería) o "hedge shears" (para setos). No se usa para cortar papel, solo materiales resistentes. No se dice "a shear".
