Shears são tesouras grandes usadas para cortar coisas como tecido, plantas ou metal. São mais fortes que tesouras comuns e normalmente têm lâminas mais longas.

"Shears" é sempre plural em inglês. Expressões comuns: "garden shears" (de jardim), "hedge shears" (de cerca viva). Usadas para materiais resistentes, não para papel comum. Não se usa "a shear".
