ガラスや陶器などの硬いものが壊れたときにできる小さくて鋭いかけら。

主にガラスや陶器など硬くて割れやすい物に使われ、布など柔らかい物には使いません。'glass shards'や'pottery shards'の形でよく見かけます。鋭くて危ないイメージがあります。
