液体やごく細かいものが小さな隙間や穴からゆっくりと外に漏れ出したり、中に入ってきたりすること。

通常は水や油、血液などが静かにゆっくりと動くときに使います。「〜から染み出す」「〜へ染み込む」などの形でよく使われます。情報や感情など抽象的なものにも使えます。
