非常に明るくて動かせる光で、何かを探したり広い範囲を照らしたりするために夜によく使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常は複数形で使われます。軍や警察、イベントなどでよく見られ、夜空を横切るドラマチックな光線を表すこともあります。比喩的に“厳しい注視”を意味する場合もあります。
