돈이 많지 않아 오랜 기간 아끼고 절약해서 차곡차곡 돈을 모으는 것.

주로 오랜 기간 동안 힘들게 돈을 모을 때 쓴다. '몇 년 동안', '겨우 ~하려고' 같은 표현과 자주 사용되며, 단기간 절약에는 사용하지 않는다.
