다른 사람이 버린 물건이나 음식 등을 찾아서 주워 모으는 것.

동물(예: 독수리, 길거리 개)이 먹이를 찾을 때나, 사람이 생존/가난하게 살 때 쓰임. 'scavenge for parts'와 같이 물건의 낡은 부품을 찾을 때도 사용.
